Hey everyone, welcome to the Student Friendly Healthy Recipe Guide!
My name is Megan and I am currently a Teacher's Education student at Brock. Fitness and nutrition are big passions of mine and I enjoy cooking and trying out different recipes, especially recipes with a healthy twist. Though, like many students, I find it hard to find time to be in the kitchen to make dinner. This is often why I find myself turning towards instant noodles, cereal, and frozen meals since they are easy and efficient.
My genius hour project revolves around cooking as a student, specifically healthy cooking. I would often find myself trying to find healthy meal ideas that are easy for students to make. Therefore my Genius hour question is: What are the best healthy dinner recipes that are student-friendly?
My goal for this project is to explore different healthy recipes and determine if they are student-friendly using a checklist comprising different factors such as the amount of time it takes to complete a recipe, how affordable are the ingredients if the recipe is easy to follow and ultimately if it tastes good. I also hope that this project will teach me new things about cooking and nutrition.
